Episode alert will provide you with a fast real-time connection to the CMS DDE system. In case you are not familiar with the Fiscal Intermediary Standard System (FISS) let me give you some information on what it can do for you and your healthcare business.

Before anything else, you will need to complete your EDI enrollment to get your DDE Medicare user Id (DDE user-id) and password. What you can do in the Direct Data Entry system

  • Medicare Claims: Submission, Status, Corrections, Cancellations, Related Attachments, and Roster Billing
  • Reports: Returned to Provider (RTP), Claim Count Summary, Detailed Provider Submission
  • Financial: Payment Floor and Recent Checks, Reimbursement
  • Inquiries: Diagnosis, CPT, CDT (American dental association), ICD-10 (American medical association) Reason Code, Remark Code, Revenue Codes, Occurrence Span Codes.

No, Episode Alert is simply your connection to that same familiar CMS System login screen. All vendors give you access to the same system, including Episode Alert.

You just need to have a DDE User Id from your MAC (Palmetto, NGS, CGS, First Coast, Noridian, Novitas, etc.) You use your DDE User Id to login into the DDE system.
